After a jam-packed event in May, Varsity Letters Reading Series returns on June 7 to Happy Ending Lounge (302 Broome St.)

This month's authors include:

Jonathan Mahler, author of "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Bronx is Burning: 1977, Baseball, Politics and the Battle for the Soul of a City"

David Hirshey, editor of "The Thinking Fan's Guide to the World Cup"

Joe Drape, author of "Black Maestro: The Epic Life of an American Legend"

As always, the reading will be hosted by Dan Shanoff, "Daily Quickie" columnist for ESPN.com.
