Attention, Deadspin Readers!

I want to personally invite Deadspin readers who live in NYC to the Varsity Letters Reading Series event on Wednesday, October 4, to mark the participation of Deadspin's own Will Leitch.

(Think of it like your summer field trip to the Nats game, with better sightlines but less Soriano.)

The reading starts at 8, but the doors open at 7ish. I propose interested Deadspin readers (and anyone else) arrive in that 7 p.m. hour to toast Will and otherwise meet-and-greet each other.

Hope to see you there!

October Reading Series Lineup Announced!

The next Varsity Letters Reading Series event will be Wednesday, October 6 at Happy Ending (302 Broome) at 8 p.m.

It's going to be a really fun night:

Will Leitch, author of "Catch" and editor of Deadspin.

Steve Wulf
, editor of "0:01," a new book from ESPN Books featuring the best of the back page of ESPN the Magazine. (In a very cool experiment for VL: An A/V presentation!)

Tom Callahan, author of "Johnny U: The Life and Times of John Unitas"

And don't forget! The first edition of the ESPN Book Club will meet on Thursday, October 12, featuring "The Echoing Green" by Joshua Prager. I'll be hosting an exclusive Q&A and reading at the Borders at the Time Warner Center (Columbus Circle, NYC).

Spread the word, and see you at either/both events!
